Your Own "Perfect Home Business" in Less Than a Week

ETR's "5 Days in July" Quick-Start Internet Business Building Conference recently came to a close in Miami Beach.

But if you couldn't make it... that doesn't mean you're going to miss out.

You can still start your own profitable "Perfect Home Business"...

And you can do it using the $300 million secrets we handed over to Conference attendees. Best of all, you can do so on your own schedule... and for about 10% of what they paid.

That's over $4,000 in savings...

PLUS, we're throwing in a $1,000 bonus (if you act fast).

"When you discover your mission, you will feel its demand. It will fill you with enthusiasm and a burning desire to get to work on it."

What Are Your Core Values?
By MaryEllen Tribby

Many marketers called the commercial "brilliant," "effective," and even "inspirational."

I say it took the easy way out.

You know the one I'm talking about -- the Nike commercial that ran right before the Masters Golf Tournament. Where Tiger Woods somberly looks into the camera as his father's voice asks him what he'd learned, blah, blah, blah...

Didn't it seem a bit like prostitution on Tiger's part? Sacrificing his self-respect and what's left of his reputation for a few bucks?

And did he really have to drag his dead father into his personal mess? Isn't it bad enough that he's sold out almost every other person in his life, including his beautiful wife and children, his business partners, and his friends?

We could debate Tiger's motivations until the cows come home. The bigger issue here is Nike's decision to make that commercial. It raises the question...

Who's the Bigger Schmuck -- Tiger or Nike?

My answer: Nike, by a mile!

It would have been so easy for Nike to do a commercial that eliminated Tiger from the equation -- a commercial that really had a lesson for young athletes.

So, Nike, here is an idea. (Feel free to use it!) How about a commercial with Derek Jeter, Peyton Manning, and Pete Sampras on a beautiful golf course -- all dressed in Nike attire and talking about what's important in life... things like family, charity, and the environment?

Now that would have been a brilliant, effective, and inspirational commercial -- one that would drive home one of the big lessons we hardworking parents try to instill in our children every day.

My nine-year-old son Connor loves playing baseball more then anything. If he is disrespectful -- to anyone -- Connor gets his baseball-playing privileges taken away. And during the Masters, Connor actually said, "Boy, I can't believe Tiger gets to play after he hurt all those people."

Now I'm not saying Tiger should have been prevented from playing in the Masters. But I do question Nike's decision to glorify him in that commercial.

It offends me. Not just as a mom but as a businesswoman.

And it makes me wonder what Nike considers to be its core values.

Core values are the foundation of a company's mission statement -- a formal, short, written statement of purpose that every organization should have.

What Is a Mission Statement -- and Why Does Your Business Need One?

In a nutshell, a mission statement answers the question "Why does this company exist?"
And if you do not have one for your business, I urge you to write one immediately.

Once you do, you will find that your customers understand you better. You will begin working only with joint venture partners who share your beliefs. All of your employees will have a better understanding of their purpose in your organization. And you will find that it is much easier to know how to run your business (including knowing whether an advertising campaign is appropriate!).

This is the mission statement for my company, Working Moms Only:

"Our mission is to supply the tools that can give EVERY working mom the ability to lead a healthy, wealthy, and more balanced/blended lifestyle. To create a community where millions of working moms from all over the world come together in support and celebration of each other."

It's simple and it's sincere. And everyone I do business with gets it -- instantly.

If you've never developed a mission statement before, here are a few things it may address:

  • A definition of what your company is and does

  • What your company aspires to be

  • What features/characteristics distinguish your company from its competitors

  • Your company's ideology and visionary goals

  • The products and/or services your company offers

Your mission statement should be specific and narrow enough that it couldn't apply to just any company... but it should be flexible enough to allow for growth and change. It must also be clear and easy for potential clients, partners, and employees to understand (i.e., no buzz words or industry jargon).

Core Values -- the Foundation of Your Mission Statement

As I said, a company's core values are the foundation of its mission statement. So before you can lay out the mission statement itself, you have to identify those core values.

Core values are NOT descriptions of the actual work you do. Rather, they give you guidance in the way you go about  your work, how you interact with others, and the strategies you choose to use to fulfill your mission.

Core values:

  • Clarify who you are

  • Articulate what you stand for

  • Help explain why you do business the way you do

  • Guide you in making decisions

These are the core values of Working Moms Only:

  • We are committed to enhancing our customers' financial, intellectual, and physical wellbeing.

  • We continually strive for excellence in all of our products and services.

  • We partner with only those who share our customer-centric commitment.

  • We strive to provide a workplace that operates in the best interests of our employees' professional and personal growth.

Once you have written down your mission statement and core values, post them. Post them in a spot where everyone who walks into your office or visits your website can see them.

Review them on a regular basis with your employees and partners. And always make sure when you bring in a new employee that they know this is what you stand for and why you are in business.

Of course, writing a mission statement and core values is not enough. What matters is living those words on a daily basis.

With the help of these tools, you will always know what to do -- from which companies to partner with to which products to design to how you communicate with your customers.

You will never find yourself making questionable business decisions (like Nike did with that Tiger Woods commercial). The right decisions will be made for you.

[Ed. Note: One of the concepts that was repeated again and again at ETR's recent 5 Days in July Internet Business Building Conference was how the core values you base your business on will determine whether your customers come to know and trust you enough to ensure your long-term success.

But that's not all attendees learned. They got a complete education in the Agora Model -- the formula that brings in millions every year for Agora Inc., Early to Rise, and hundreds of other Internet businesses. E-mail marketing, copywriting, search engine optimization, pay-per-click ads... it was all covered, and much more. If you couldn't be there in person, now there's a way for you to learn those very same business-building secrets... at your convenience. We filmed every minute of the Conference, so you can watch it in the comfort of your own home. Find out more here.

Today's Words That Work: Demiurge

A demiurge (DEM-ee-urj) -- from the Greek for "artisan" -- is a powerful creative force or personality.

Example (as used by Peter Schjeldahl in The New Yorker, referring to the many recent showings of Pablo Picasso's artwork): "Finally coming to grips with the Andalusian demiurge [Picasso] is an art-cultural hajj that has only just begun."

Straight from the horse's mouth

Dear ETR Reader -

Two years ago, Pete was just a face in the audience.

A normal guy, working a 9-to-5 job in the flailing Detroit auto industry... A father of five... A man who wanted a secure financial future for himself and his family.

Today, Pete owns and operates his own "Perfect Home Business."

Last week, Pete Genot took a spot on stage at our 5 Days in July Quick Start Business Building Bootcamp. He joined the seven expert marketers, copywriters, and list builders we'd assembled to teach nearly 100 people how to build a foundation for a life-long stream of Internet income.

"I started reading ETR and LOVED it. Then I finally made a 'leap of faith' and dropped a bunch of money to attend the 5 Days in July conference in Denver," Pete says.

At the conference, Pete says, "the days were long, the sessions were intense, and by the end of Day 4 I thought my head was going to explode! Someone compared it to drinking water from a fire hose.  But by the end of Day 5, I knew I had just had a life changing experience. I was so energized from everything I had learned that I couldn't wait to get home and start building upon all the work we did at the conference.

"It was a great experience, I learned a lot and I'm really glad I decided to do it. It is such an incredible feeling to get up and do something you love because you want to, not because you have to do it."

Now Pete has a full-fledged business called The Healthy Minute. He has a website. An e-newsletter. A list of customers. In other words, he has everything in place to make him a steady stream of income for years to come.

"I am continuing to use the tools and techniques taught by ETR to build my Internet business so that one day soon I'll be able to say good-bye to my old job forever," says Pete.  "Each month I move a little closer to my goal of replacing my annual income with the income I earn from my website."

But you don't have to hear about Pete's experience... and how it could soon be YOUR experience... from me...

You can get it straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

That's because Pete - along with our other expert panelists, including publishing veteran Sandy Franks, e-commerce expert Brian York, copywriting master Charlie Byrne, and list-building specialist Bret Holmes - is featured on our "Perfect Home Business" Quick Start DVD Program.

We recorded every minute of this year's 5 Days in July Bootcamp. Every word of our experts' advice and instruction. Every question and stumbling point our attendees encountered as they built their own "Perfect Home Businesses" from scratch.

With the Quick Start Program, you can follow along, step by step, and set up your own "Perfect Home Business" in just 5 days.

Right now, you can get the "Perfect Home Business" Quick Start Program for 90% off the cost of attending the 5 Days conference... Yet you get "front row" access to every presentation, Q & A session, and step-by-step tutorial offered during the conference.

But the 90% discount ends tomorrow morning at 9:00 am. So you must hurry.

Click here now to get your own "Perfect Home Business" off the ground... in just 5 days... for a tiny fraction of the cost of the conference.

Best Regards,

"The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician. Therefore the physician must start from nature, with an open mind."

Philipus Aureolus Paracelsus

The Most Important Thing I Ever Learned About Health

The most important thing I ever learned about staying healthy came to me late in life.

It wasn't a formula or a therapy. It wasn't even advice in the formal sense of the word. The most profound lesson I ever learned came to me after years and years of reading about the human body and how it works. It came to me after consulting with some of the best doctors in the business, including Dr. Robert Atkins and, more recently, Dr. Al Sears.

My realization was at once striking and obvious. And I never looked at health or medicine the same way again.

What was my big realization?

The human body is designed to renew and perfect itself. It does this every second of every day, so long as we are living. If we don't damage it too much and let it do what it wants to do, we can be healthy.

This is a very different idea than the one I had for most of my life. My old perspective, which I got from reading newspapers and watching television, was that the body starts out perfect -- but over time, it breaks down and eventually falls apart.

I used to think of the body as a machine -- like a car that needed maintenance. And doctors were the mechanics that could keep us running and fix our parts when they went bad.

But now I know that the mechanical metaphor is misleading. It is the reason we are willing -- even eager -- to run to a doctor when something feels wrong. But I've come to understand that doctors play only a very small role in healing. More than 90 percent of it is done naturally, by our own bodies -- with or without the intervention of doctors and the medicines they prescribe.

If you bruise your elbow or cut your finger, what happens? In a few days, the bruise or cut heals. You don't have to take a pill to get better. Your body takes care of itself. Damaged skin is replaced by new skin. And the new skin is healthy. It is perfect.

The same is true when you break a bone. Once it's put back into position, the bone will heal itself. And when it does, the brand-new bone is stronger than the bone it replaced.

As I said, the body wants to renew itself -- and will do so as long as it is allowed.

Your body's drive to heal and renew itself continues constantly. People in their eighties and older can grow new skin, bones, and muscle. They can defeat colds and the flu. They can even defeat the deadliest diseases.

I am not suggesting that we are designed to live forever. In fact, we are designed to die. But I do think we can live a very long and healthy life -- into our mid to late eighties -- if we give the body the natural nutrition it needs to heal itself.

If you read enough about how the body works, it's hard to come to any other conclusion. Yet this idea -- that the body has the natural ability to perfect itself -- is anathema to the medical and drug industries.

They survive on the idea that the body is a machine -- that it breaks down and needs mechanical intervention to be repaired. Intervention that is, for the most part, one of the world's greatest con games.

The business of medicine is very large and very powerful. How big is it? I have access to financial analysts that most people don't have. I asked one of them to tally up its true size, including hospital billings, pharmaceutical sales, outpatient clinics, and so on. The number he gave me was even higher than I suspected: $4.5 trillion a year, about half of it contributed by the U.S.

Does it surprise you, then, to hear me suggest that all this money has resulted in a business whose primary goal is to make you think that you are sick?

And that's not the end of it. The medical industry is in collusion with the food industry, the manufacturers of the "fuel" our bodies consume. So much of what we are told to eat by doctors and by our government is based on the results of studies financed by the food industry itself -- including the big companies that tout the advantages of all sorts of unnatural foods that continue to stress our natural bodies.

There is a great book on this subject written by Dr. Norton M. Hadler. Dr. Hadler is professor of Medicine and Microbiology/Immunology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and attending rheumatologist, University of North Carolina Hospitals.

In the book, Dr. Hadler looks at many of the most popular and most widely practiced modern medical cures. I'm talking about angioplasties, bypass surgeries, mastectomies, statin drugs, chemotherapy, and so on.

He analyzed the scientific studies that originally supported the widespread use of these therapies. He also reviewed all the significant studies that have been done on them ever since. And do you know what he found? He found that there was absolutely no proof that they worked! In many cases, they were actually worse than doing nothing -- and they all have serious side effects.

Dr. Hadler calls this the "medicalization" of an overtreated society. He argues that the medical industry is an artificial social construct where health conditions are turned into diseases for financial gain.

"I am convinced the major stumbling block to rational health care is the social construction of health," he says. "Americans think their medicine is the 'best,' if only they could afford it. This is the catwalk for displaying the medical emperor's new clothes."

I will get give you more details on this travesty of science in a minute. But let's get back to my main point, which is the body's amazing potential to heal itself.

Imagine if your body really could:

  • Regenerate new cartilage if you have arthritis?

  • Restore your clogged arteries to full health?

  • Produce teenage-level strength in your bones at any age?

Well, your body can. It can do all of those things and many more. But the medical establishment doesn't want you to know that -- because if you do, they will lose revenue.

I asked my financial analyst to find out how much money is spent on surgeries to cure lower-back pain each year. He told me it's approximately $50 billion a year. Well, guess what? Those operations don't do any good. Your body can and will cure you of back pain if you don't let doctors put you in danger by cutting into your spine.

I will give you a personal example of how the body can heal itself...

I suffered from lower-back pain for more than 15 years. I spent loads of money going to the very best and most expensive orthopedists. They took x-rays and found problems with my discs and prescribed drugs and recommended surgery. I took the drugs but wisely demurred on the surgery. Then, about five years ago, I read a book by Dr. John Sarno that convinced me that 99 percent of lower-back pain has nothing to do with busted discs. His proof is irrefutable. (If you'd like to see it for yourself, you don't have to read the book. I'll send you a free report with the details of his key insights.)

Dr. Sarno didn't offer me a guaranteed cure for back pain. But something he said in his book triggered a thought about the body's natural healing. I pursued that idea, working with yoga therapists and a Pilates instructor, and cured my 15-year back problem in six weeks. That was five years ago. Two or three times since then, I've felt my back start to go out and I've been able to correct it within 48 hours without going to a doctor or spending a nickel. (When you read the free report I'd like to send you, you'll find out how I did it, along with the science behind it.)

Another quick example...

A good friend of mine came down with allergies in his forties. It got so bad that he could barely work. He went to his doctor, who prescribed various anti-inflammatory drugs. Some of them worked temporarily, but they all eventually failed. Then I introduced him to a doctor whose practice is based on allowing the body to heal itself.

This doctor explained that the reason those drugs failed is that they weren't addressing the root cause of my friend's allergies -- the fact that his body had stopped producing enough of the natural anti-inflammatory hormone cortisol. His real problem was that his adrenal gland was exhausted.

The doctor prescribed a natural supplement that stimulated my friend's adrenal gland to repair itself. Now he is free of allergies, and he thinks the doctor I sent him to is some kind of medical savant. But I keep telling him, "He's just an honest doctor who gave your body what it needed."

Your body can heal itself. It can get rid of any chronic or persistent pain you feel by naturally healing your tendons and ligaments, not by masking the pain. It can do the same with clogged arteries or digestive problems. It can do it, too, with diabetes and cancer.

Did you know that cancer cells are always present in the body? That they are present -- in the millions -- even when you are young? It's true. The reason most of us never succumb to cancer -- and, by the way, most of us never do -- is because our bodies have billions of anti-cancer molecules swarming around in the bloodstream, killing cancer cells all the time. People get cancer when their immune systems weaken and they stop being able to overpower the cancer cells that have gone haywire.

In all the years the medical industry has been fighting cancer, it has made very little progress. Yet natural therapies can and do work.

Let me give you one example...

A doctor located in Mexico has developed a breakthrough cancer treatment. This cutting-edge therapy:

  • Is 10,000 times more effective than standard chemotherapy...

  • Doesn't cause nausea, hair loss, or excessive weight loss...

  • Uses heat to draw cancer cells out of hiding and into the open, where they're easily eliminated...

The technique is called hyperthermia. It is natural. It is safe. And it has been practiced for thousands of years. In fact, its origins go back as far as ancient Egypt. And make no mistake about it... this cure may be natural, but it is based on science -- on the fact that cancer cells are weaker than healthy cells and, thus, much more sensitive to heat.

Now let's talk about diabetes...

Type 2 (adult-onset) diabetes is fast becoming a national epidemic -- a dangerous one, because it disables people and shortens their lives. If you are following the government's recommended dietary plan, you probably feel good about your chances of avoiding diabetes. In fact, you are doing exactly what it takes to stimulate the disease.

Nearly 80 million Americans have Type-2 diabetes or are slowly developing it...

As the sixth-leading cause of death, this disease claims nearly 100 lives every single day...

And it is almost entirely preventable!

That's right. Researchers have shown that you can stop diabetes in its tracks in just THREE WEEKS... and you can do it without medication.

Using an all-natural approach -- the approach used by Dr. Richard Bernstein, one of the world's foremost experts on diabetes -- test subjects experienced dramatic, measurable results, including:

  • lower cholesterol

  • fewer free radicals in their blood, and

  • higher levels of nitric oxide, which keeps arteries clear and blood flowing

As a consultant to health publishers, I have privileged access to medical studies done all over the world. I don't read the actual studies myself. (I doubt that I would be able to fully understand them.) But I consult with a half-dozen health experts and dozens of doctors, PhDs, and researchers who not only read them but also do clinical work. I consider Dr. Al Sears to be a great pioneer in this area. I've consulted with him many times over the years, and I trust him. So much so, in fact, that he's become my personal physician.

But there are many physicians like him around the world who have rejected the "medicalization" of health and are looking to find natural cures. What they are finding is that for every questionable and expensive drug or surgical procedure, there are two or three completely natural solutions that work just as well or better -- but without the sometimes-dangerous side effects.

Here are some examples. Did you know that...

  • You can improve your prostate health through simple changes in diet?

  • Eliminating starchy foods can fight diabetes?

  • A low-carb diet may combat heart disease?

  • Drinking red wine can actually reverse the signs of aging?

The best of these natural cures work the same way -- by naturally stimulating the body to do what it is designed to do: regenerate itself, minute-by-minute, on a cellular level. And that is why so many of these natural cures begin to take effect in a matter of days... sometimes hours. The body wants to heal itself!

If all this makes sense to you, I urge you to read the special report I want to send you. It was originally written for me by the folks at Natural Health Confidential -- but it was so good that I felt guilty not sharing it. In the future, they will charge good money for it, as they should. But I have convinced them to give it to you today for free when you sign up for a 60-day trial subscription to the Natural Health Confidential newsletter.

It's my way to introduce you to their publication, Natural Health Confidential, which is based on this idea that your natural body is by far the most powerful healing force in the universe... and that anyone can recalibrate their natural healing abilities.

One of the things I like best about Natural Health Confidential is that it operates independently. It's not tied to any one idea, company, or product. That means the information you get is uncensored and unbiased.

If you'd like a free copy of the report I told you a little about today -- "The True Cause of Back Pain" -- just go here right now and sign up. Then you'll be able to download the report instantly. If, after 60 days, you decide the newsletter isn't for you -- you get your money back and you get to keep the report.

I'm hoping I have made it clear that getting the kind of information Natural Health Confidential publishes could be the most important thing you ever do for yourself.

So, please, sign up today.

5 Days Redux

As I write to you today, it's been about a week since the Early to Rise team and about 70 new Internet business owners wrapped up our 5 Days in July Internet Business Building Conference in Miami.

The first thing conference attendees learned to do was some market research. As a result, they can be sure they will be selling products that customers actually want. (A lot of would-be entrepreneurs get this backward.) Then they learned how to create products quickly and easily. They put a website for their business live on the Internet... wrote ad copy... and discovered more than a dozen free ways to drive traffic to their site.

But all that effort would have been useless... if not for the business model that tied all the technology and strategies together. It's the behind-the-scenes mix of old and new school marketing responsible for the success of Agora, Early to Rise, and other online ventures "in the know." And as any of the conference attendees can tell you, it was easily worth their price of entry alone.

For most would-be Internet entrepreneurs, it remains an elusive secret. And their businesses will be stalled until they can learn it. That's why it was the centerpiece of this conference. And why we brought in the very same experts who use it every day to teach it.

If you couldn't make it to the live event... you won't miss out. You can still learn this secret business model.

The entire conference was professionally recorded. And we're making it available on DVD as a home-study course.

To get your copy of this program -- which is, by the way, at a 90 percent discount to what conference attendees paid -- go here.

Smashed that stumbling block to bits!

Dear ETR Reader -

"I'm so busy with work and family, how could I possibly find time to start a business on the side?"

"Lack of time" has to be one of the biggest obstacles preventing would-be entrepreneurs from bringing in extra income.

At our 5 Days in July Quick Start Business Building Conference, Brian Edmondson smashed that stumbling block to bits with one powerful technique: He showed nearly 100 people how to make their businesses practically automatic.

"There are lots of day-to-day tasks that go into running an Internet business," Brian told me. "You've got to prepare newsletter content... set up email messages... create membership sites...

"But a lot of people don't have the time or energy to do these things every single day. So their businesses get stuck... and eventually stagnate.

"So that's why one of the most important secrets I gave was how to automate all these daily tasks."

With our "Perfect Home Business" Quick Start Program, you will not only get expert guidance in how to build the foundation for your own life-long Internet income stream... in just 5 days...

You'll also find out how to run it on "autopilot," using Brian's simple, step-by-step instructions.

One "Perfect Home Business" owner - Jean Millard of Willow Spring, NC - says, "The Early to Rise staff ... have a tried, tested, and proven system that works."

Learn more about all the secrets our expert panel revealed during the conference... and find out how you can start your own "Perfect Home Business" in just 5 days... by reading on below.

You can get a 90% discount on the cost of the conference... if you act quickly.

So I urge you to read on below for all the details about how to get your "Perfect Home Business" Quick Start Program at this deep discount.

Your ETR Insider

Early To Rise Insider
From The Desk of Laura Rodini Volume 1  |  Issue 23   |  July 23, 2010

Dear ETR Insider,

So... what do you do for a living?

David works as a pharmacist.

Kimberly is a SAT prep teacher.

Nathan is a college student.

And Lisa is a real estate agent.

They work very hard at their 9-to-5 jobs. But when their workday's done? That's when the real fun begins!

I had the opportunity to spend time with each one of them at our 5 Days in July Business Building Conference. They all came because they wanted to get out of the "work to live" rut and, instead, live to work.

"I was determined to attend this conference," Kimberly told me. "I knew it was time to take that first step toward my financial freedom."

At the conference, they learned how to research a potential customer base, test a product idea using pay-per-click (PPC) advertising and SEO, as well as eight ways to build an e-mail list of customers (the most important part of an online business).

And every one of them left with a fully functioning website. (Nathan, in fact, got over 400 hits in one day from his!)

They're all well on their way to leaving the daily grind behind to follow their (very diverse) passions.

David's is travel writing.

Kimberly's is parenting.

Lisa's is anti-aging health.

And Nathan's is sports.

The main presenter at the conference, Internet Money Club Director Brian Edmondson, shared many of the personal secrets behind his success.

David at work
David at work

One example: When he was just starting out, Brian found that the easiest way to achieve "guru" status on the Internet was simply to invite the top 20 list-building experts he knew to participate in a "webinar" on the subject of list building. He allowed them to "pitch" their own products to the webinar attendees and keep 100% of the sales they made. Meanwhile, the exposure Brian got as a result of the webinar was invaluable.

Another example: As we all know, "content is King" on the Internet. So, as Brian pointed out, if you expect your website to get high rankings on Google and the other search engines, you should be posting new articles to your site at least once a day.

But what do you do if you're not much of a writer - or you don't have time to write articles yourself? Brian recommended doing what he does - "outsourcing" the writing by finding freelancers on the Elance website.

Check out David's travel website, www.adventurethrillseekers.com. He took Brian's advice to heart and put up an ad on Elance for freelance travel writers. "I learned so much at the conference," he told me, "and the teachers were so helpful and friendly."

Kimberly
Kimberly, our parenting guru

Kimberly and I had a discussion at the conference on setting the right "tone" for her parenting website, www.notearsparenting.com. She's got a bubbly personality that translates well to the screen.

"An important lesson I learned at 5 Days," said Kimberly, "was to put my customers first by finding out their needs and offering them something of value - something that would truly help them and enhance their lives." I was given the tools to accomplish this... to make money while helping others. My eyes are now open to opportunity."

Lisa Listening to Brian
Lisa listening to Brian

Lisa's hard at work on her homepage. "I've made progress. Got my "home," "about me," and "contact" links active at the top of the page, wrote my profile page, and got a Google number for my voice mail.... Whew! Tomorrow, I'll publish my first article," she told me.

"My favorite line from the conference," said Lisa, "was when emcee Joshua Boswell asked, 'What am I stealing from friends, family, and people I know by not doing what I'm capable of?'

"I now know that I'm capable of making my site the best anti-aging site, www.theantiagingspecialist.com, on the Web, and will be giving back to the people I know and care about (as well                                                              as a ton of others I don't know) by doing so."

Nathan and his Dad, Darren
Nathan and his Dad, Darren

At just 18 years of age, Nathan is already light years ahead of his peers by coming to the conference and taking that first step down the entrepreneurial path.

His parents are justifiably proud. In fact, Nathan's Dad attended the conference with him!

"ETR taught me that there's more to Internet marketing than just pop-ups!" Nathan said. "I learned the fundamentals of list building, and I was able to take the Agora Model and incorporate it into traditional as well as Internet businesses."

If you couldn't make it to Miami last week (which is a shame, because we had so much fun!), we can still help you start your own profitable Internet business.

Our Perfect Home Business program gives you the same proprietary blueprint that we revealed at the 5 Days in July Conference - the same techniques that helped Agora Inc. bring in an average of $295 million each year for the last five years. And if you sign up for it today, you'll get a $100 discount. So don't delay. This special offer ends for good Monday at 5:00 p.m. For all the details, click here.

| A Bunch of Thanks |

When I got back to the office on Monday morning, I was delighted to open my inbox and find all sorts of thank you notes from our 5 Days in July attendees. But they're not the only ones who left the conference feeling inspired. Check out this lovely note from our video marketing expert, Sandy Franks, the executive publisher of Taipan Publishing:

Sandy Franks Note

I'm already looking forward to next year's event. I'm thinking we might hold it in Denver or Chicago. Let me know which you'd prefer.

| The Gains, They Just Keep Coming |

Another thing waiting for me in my inbox on Monday morning was this great bit of news from our options expert, Ted Peroulakis:

"Last week, I correctly forecasted that Alcoa, CSX, Intel, and JP Morgan would beat earnings estimates. So my readers saw some nice gains - including a 125% gain in only two days after Intel blew away their earnings expectations."

"Nice work, Ted!" I replied.

Ted has an incredible track record of winners with his Breakfast Club trading advisory newsletter. The best part of it is, you don't need to invest large sums of money to make his strategy work for you.

Just recently, for example, you could have turned a modest $350 investment into $700 in two days.

That might not seem like a lot. But consider this: If you generated an extra $350 in cash every week, you'd end up with an extra $18,200 at the end of the year... Not bad, right?

| Pulling Back the Curtain |

Mr. Newman and me
Mr. Newman and me

One more thing before I sign off this week...

Did you notice anything different about the messages you received from Early to Rise last week?

You shouldn't have… even though almost the entire staff moved down to the Turnberry Resort for a week. We were literally setting up and broadcasting ETR to our subscribers from the back of the room between presentations! That is, when we hadn't scheduled messages to go out in advance.

As Brian Edmondson showed our 5 Days attendees, that's the beauty of the Internet! You can run your business from anywhere - at least anywhere with an Internet connection.

Until next week,

Laura Sig

Sincerely,
Laura Rodini

"In the modern world of business, it is useless to be a creative, original thinker unless you can also sell what you create."

David Ogilvy

What? No Newsletter?
By Bob Bly

There are a number of business models for making money on the Internet. Of these, my favorite -- and the one I recommend to those who want to sell information products, dietary supplements, or just about any other product online -- is the "Agora Model."

In a nutshell, the Agora Model says you should offer a free e-newsletter in order to build up a large subscriber base. Then, you make money by e-mailing promotions to your online subscriber list.

Companies are making hundreds of millions of dollars in sales online with the Agora Model. Yet when I recommend it to marketers -- both experienced and novice alike -- they are immediately and strongly resistant to the idea.

Why?

One reason for their reluctance is that they have read articles by so-called Internet marketing gurus telling them that e-mail marketing is dead, passe, old hat. And that they should be focusing instead on blogging, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, online video, mobile marketing, or whatever the fad flavor of the month is.

Another reason is a fear -- reasonable, but not true -- that the e-zine "space" is overcrowded.

"There are so many e-zines out there, and everyone I know says they already get too many," an attendee at ETR's Information Marketing Bootcamp two years ago told me. "It seems impossible that I could be successful by publishing yet another one."

If you believe this, slap yourself -- and listen to what I'm telling you...

The Agora Model still works. I use it myself to earn a mid-six-figure income online -- "working" on my Internet business only a couple of hours a day.

As an article in a recent issue of DM News reported: "While social media and mobile marketing continue to be hot topics, marketers are still finding e-mail newsletters relevant."

One of the neatest things about the Agora Model is that your e-newsletter subscribers tend to be loyal readers -- because they have chosen to opt in to your e-list. And despite the glut of e-mail in your prospects' inboxes, sending an e-mail is still an effective way to get their attention:

  • A study at Loughborough University found that users take action, on average, in less than two minutes upon being notified that a new e-mail is waiting for them.

  • According to a report by Forrester Research, opt-in lists (including e-newsletter subscriber lists) retain 49 percent of their subscribers over time -- nearly double the retention rate of compiled e-lists.

  • And a study from ClearContext, an e-mail management tools vendor, found that over half of users surveyed spend more than two hours a day with their e-mail inboxes.

Yet another reason why marketers hesitate to launch an e-newsletter is that they have the mistaken belief that it is time- and labor-intensive to produce.

In fact, your e-newsletter doesn't have to be elaborate, lengthy, complex, or fancy. But it does have to deliver useful content to your subscribers -- and do so on a consistent basis.

Publishing your own e-newsletter gives you three essential advantages when it comes to making money online...

1. The best way to get people to opt in to your e-list is by offering them free content. When you publish an e-newsletter, you always have new free content (your e-newsletter) to offer.

2. A monthly e-newsletter ensures that your prospects hear from you -- on a regular basis -- at least 12 times a year. Assuming they find your content valuable, this consistent communication helps build relationships with them.

3. When people subscribe to an online newsletter, they give you permission to e-mail to them. That means you can send them e-mail marketing messages -- with product offers -- whenever you wish, at minimal cost.

Repeated exposure to your e-newsletter and solo e-mail promotions gets subscribers to trust you enough to start buying the products you sell or recommend. And before you know it, you're making money selling information and/or merchandise on the Internet!

[Ed. Note: Personal, frequent contact with your customers and prospects is one of the best ways to build solid relationships with them. Starting an e-mail newsletter -- filled with relevant, useful advice -- is a perfect way to do it. And it's the basis of the Agora Model, which is responsible for the success of Agora Inc., Early to Rise, and hundreds of other online businesses.

The Language Perfectionist: An Abundance of Misuses

By Don Hauptman

Here's a roundup of interesting mistakes, culled from my recent reading of daily newspapers:

  • "Mr. Bush erred in not clamping down on a rapacious, wreckless Congress and putting the brakes on its spending."

The word for "careless, heedless, out of control" is spelled reckless. If wreckless existed, it might almost serve as an antonym for reckless!

  • "She believes that sandals are 'innately respectable in hot weather' and, if chosen well, can be worn to most offices."

I puzzled over what word this person had in mind. The word innate means "inborn, possessed at birth," which doesn't make a lot of sense here. She may have meant eminently.

  • "[Flight delays are bad but] perhaps the lingua franca of Mr. LaHood [Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood] and the media -- hostage-taking, torture, imprisonment, 'the flight from hell' -- should be reserved for more serious use."

A lingua franca is a means of communication among people who speak different languages. Perhaps this editorial writer was being facetious or sarcastic, but my preference would have been language, terminology, or choice of words.

  • "The musical-theater idiom has regained its currency, and is enjoying what may be its greatest popularity among young people since the pre-rock era.... The foremost example of this is 'Glee,' Fox's instant-hit TV show...."

It's not exactly a mistake, but what's happening above is a stylistic quirk that ranks among my pet language peeves. Instead of the naked and possibly confusing this, it would be clearer and more elegant to write this development or this phenomenon.

[Ed Note: For more than three decades, Don Hauptman was an award-winning independent direct-response copywriter and creative consultant. He is author of The Versatile Freelancer, an e-book that shows writers and other creative professionals how to diversify their careers into speaking, consulting, training, and critiquing.]
