ETR 2009 Info-Marketing Bootcamp - Onsite Reporting Insider Report #2 - Monday, November 9, 2009                 MONDAY, November 9, 2009 - 5:25PM EST DELRAY BEACH MARRIOTT DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA ETR 2009 INFO-MARKETING BOOTCAMP INSIDER REPORT #2 FROM: JESSICA KURRLE Dear ETR Reader, If you were here in Delray Beach this morning, you never, ever would've guessed the eye of Hurricane Ida was churning hundreds of miles away from us. It felt like it was making landfall RIGHT HERE! In fact, this morning's howling onshore winds were SOOO powerful that I literally had to drive to the Delray Beach Marriott with two hands on the wheel. No joke! Fortunately... I made it here in one piece... without getting sideswiped off I-95 by Ida's far-reaching winds. And that's a good thing. I definitely didn't want to miss one second of today's presentations... Ida or no Ida. Jessica Kurrle here. And it's a rather gusty Day 2 of ETR's 2009 Info-Marketing Bootcamp. How would I describe today so far? In a word, DEEP. And I say DEEP because every single speaker so far has drilled down into the core... both professionally and personally... of what it REALLY takes to run a super-successful information marketing business. I wish I had the time to tell you everything I've found out so far today. But seriously... it's just been so much that I don't think I'd have the time to write it all. So... I'm going to give you the next best thing. Here are a few "golden nuggets" I picked up from our panel of expert "infopreneurs" so far today: Michael Masterson Consultant to several $100 million dollar companies - Discover your "Optimal Selling Strategy." This is essential to bringing in high-value customers... which Michael says is the most important thing you can do for your business... no matter what it is. What's more, this is something you can NEVER give up.
                         - Know your motivation. Is it money, freedom, or passion that drives you to launch your own business? Michael said each has its own set of pros and cons. You must know what drives you... why it drives you... and keep this in mind at every stage of building your business.
                         - Stay focused on your primary job. It's easy to get distracted by smaller things... to drift off to "secondary" issues in your business. Don't let your mind stray. Keep Michael's "The Power of One" in mind. Determine the most important thing you could be doing to build your business... and do it as if your life depended on it.
                         - Keep it simple. Michael's NOT a big believer in websites with all the "bells and whistles." He prefers to focus on simplicity. "Make sure you've got good ideas that are clearly expressed" he told us. This goes for graphics, too.(NOTE: The companies Michael consults for bring in over $275 million per year among them. And if you were to take a look at their websites, you'd notice that they're ALL remarkably simple in appearance.)
MaryEllen Tribby 20-Year Veteran of Direct Marketing - Create a "BRAGABLE" network. What MaryEllen means by "bragable" is a network that you can brag about to anyone you meet. For example, MaryEllen's bragable network includes Clayton Makepeace, Rich Schefren, and Joe Polish... all some of the most successful marketers in the world. What's the best way to do this... to create a bragable network? Become a bragable asset yourself!
                         - Don't ask for favors. Ask for advice. Recently, MaryEllen had a meeting with billionaire entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson. And she wanted his input on a business idea of hers. Instead of saying to Richard, "Can you help me?" she asked him if he thought her business idea was reasonable. He offered valuable feedback... and even agreed to help her pursue her idea.
                         - Create accountability partners. MaryEllen and good friend Buck Rizvi speak with each other every week about their respective businesses. And they hold each other accountable for the goals they tell each other they want to achieve. She then told us that if you've got an accountability partner, you're 65% more likely to achieve your goals.
Brian Edmondson Director, ETR's Internet Money Club - Master "The #1 Financially Valuable Online Skill." Brian believes that building your list can help you explode your online business faster than anything else you do.
                         - Learn and master Video Marketing IMMEDIATELY. Video is hot right now... and getting hotter by the day. What's more, according to Brian, the search engines LOVE videos... and often reward quality videos with high rankings. (Incidentally, Brian's a HUGE Engelbert Humperdinck fan... and discovered him on YouTube!)
                         - Embrace Article Marketing. Anyone can write a simple 250-500 article. And this is one of the most powerful ways to attract traffic and build your list.
                         - Use Social Media to build relationships. Social Media websites like Facebook and Twitter are a great way to "get social" with your customers and show a little bit of your personality.
Scott Martineau Founder of ConsciousOne.com - Beware of "Terminal Uniqueness." What this means is when you get to the point where you're like, "I don't have to listen to this... I know it all... I don't need help anymore... etc." This will stop you from getting to the next level.
                         - Repurpose content. Scott mentioned to us how the story of the Titanic has been repurposed and repackaged several times in both book and film format. So have the Harry Potter stories (from book to movie to audio book). You can do the same with all different kinds of content. And do it all for an extremely low cost as well (especially if it's digitally-delivered like in PDF, MP3, or Video format).
                         - Get out and do it already! It's not about being the greatest. It's about getting out there... removing the blindness and inertia... and starting to generate revenue.
This was just a small, small sample of what we all discovered this morning. And there's more to come in just a moment. In fact, Rich Schefren is about to take the stage and reveal the "Missing Link" to succeeding in any business. It's the same secret he's used to bring in as much as $3.5 million online in only one month. And right after that, master marketer Joe Polish is going to show us how to dominate any market in seven easy steps. I'll make sure to find out as much as I can from these expert speakers, avoid any future hurricanes, and get back to you tomorrow with all the details. See you soon!
