Your ETR Insider

Early To Rise Insider
From The Desk of Laura Rodini Volume 1  |  Issue 7   |  March 26, 2010

Dear ETR Insider,

Filled up your gas tank lately?

I saw prices topped $2.99 a gallon in Florida last weekend. So I did what any red-blooded American would do: I drove on past the gas station, vowing to limit my driving to make the gas in my tank last as long as possible!

Eventually, of course, I'll run so low that I'll have to give in - and it doesn't look like gas prices will go down anytime soon.

But here's an interesting spin on an otherwise frustrating situation. Investors who get in on oil plays could see big gains in the coming months.

And Investor's Daily Edge's Christian Hill has a way to do it with one Chinese oil company in particular.

Why a Chinese oil company? In the next issue of the Liberty Street League newsletter, he explains. It's because China's middle class is exploding. (Right now, China has a middle-class population estimated to be 200-300 million strong.)

And what the middle class wants is cars.

January marked a new record for auto sales in China: 1.66 million. That's more cars sold in one month than in an entire year just a decade ago!

And we know what all those cars are fueled by: oil. So get your copy of the Liberty Street League newsletter for all the details on Christian's new pick.

Bestseller of the Week: Resource Windfall Speculator

It's an exciting story. A small gold mining company exploring Canada's Yukon Territory made a big discovery. And now a much bigger company wants to buy it.

Dr. Rusty McDougal broke the good news to readers of his Resource Windfall Speculator investment research service.

The small company found more than a million ounces of gold, with another 400,000 ounces anticipated.

But that's not the best news. You see, when a large company eyes a target for acquisition, shares of the smaller company usually go up.

And that's just what happened. The small mining company's stock rose from $2.50 to $2.57 in trading last week. More increases may be coming. That's on top of the 99% gains Rusty's readers saw on this stock before the acquisition announcement!

"Hopefully, most all of you own shares and will profit handsomely from this deal," Rusty wrote to his readers.

"We may or may not get a higher bidder for this gold explorer as they have a large land area and lots of promising targets. Stay tuned."

At least 10 companies in his Resource Windfall portfolio have been involved in merger and acquisition activities in the recent past. The trick is to own these small companies well before Daddy Warbucks comes looking for one to buy.

Rusty's portfolio is loaded with strong candidates, and this trend is still in the early stages. His readers are sitting on gains as high as 211% and 309%. Find out how you can get in on these gains too, by reading here.

5 Days in July Update - Meet Our Main Presenter, Brian T. Edmondson

This year's 5 Days in July Conference is shaping up to be our best event yet.

We'll be covering all of the proven principles of direct-response marketing - the strategies responsible for more than $350 million in revenues for Agora, our parent company, every year!

We'll be covering some completely new techniques, too - including social media and video marketing, which are building buzz for both big and small online businesses.

We're lucky to have Brian Edmondson as the main presenter at this year's conference. He's an author and Internet entrepreneur whose forte is generating Web traffic and building responsive lists. He is also the director of ETR's Internet Money Club.

After leaving his Wall Street job in 2001, Brian achieved financial independence by launching websites (including one that grossed over $50,000 in sales in its first week) and masterminding several multimillion-dollar Internet businesses. He's famous for "generating big profits from small lists" - making over $15,000 in 7 days from a list of only 1,286 subscribers, to name but one!

Now he can help you get your Internet business off the ground at this year's 5 Days in July Conference.

Take note: The best price we'll offer for 5 Days in July is available right now, but you might not be aware of it. Only those who've signed up for our mailing list and are getting updates from our Associate Publisher, Jess Kurrle, are "in the know."

If you want to get in on this great deal, sign up for the conference here. Your chance to take advantage of the lowest price we offer ends at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 31. Don't miss out!

Faces of Success: Julie Broad - From "Zero" to Sales Hero in Less Than 2 Years

Julie and her husband, Dave

I had the pleasure of speaking with our newest Face of Success this week, Julie Broad.

Julie was a fresh-faced MBA from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto, Canada when she took a sales position with a real estate research company. She expected she'd be making big bucks from commissions, but after four months on the job she hadn't made a single sale.

Needless to say, she was worried. And that's when a friend introduced her to Early to Rise.

Julie devoured every issue. She took Michael Masterson's advice to heart, and started to get to work before everyone else and make herself invaluable to the people she worked with. If no one arranged for a meeting to be summarized, she took notes and sent them around.

She even started an e-mail newsletter for the company's clients, which improved retention and made upsells easier.

It didn't take long before she was promoted and given a raise. And within two years, she was a Vice President!

In 2007, when it came time for her to take over the company's sales and marketing, she decided to attend ETR's Information Marketing Bootcamp.

"At that Bootcamp, my entire life began to change," Julie says. "I learned a ton of things that would benefit the company I was working for. But more important, I began to see how I could finally achieve my dreams of becoming a published author and speaker by helping new real estate investors become financially free through real estate investing."

So she and Dave, her partner and husband, created a new business - complete with an online newsletter - on residential real estate investing to help new real estate investors get started. It's called Rev N You with Real Estate. And they use the lessons they've learned in their online business in their real estate investing business too! They send direct mail to potential sellers. They place benefit-driven ads to attract tenants. Julie's success as an online real estate marketer has enabled her to network with some of the most successful real estate investors in the world.

"As a real estate investor, having a diverse and deep network of people who are extraordinarily successful in their business is truly priceless," she says.

Julie has a special free offer for readers of Early to Rise: 31 real estate investing video tips, including "Three Real Estate Calculations You Must Know," "How to Find a Good Realtor," and "The Hidden Money in Property Management," among many others. Just go here.

And if you have a story to share about how Early to Rise has helped you get your dream business off the ground, email me here. I love hearing from you.

Headin' to the Big Easy

One more thing before I sign off this week...

In his book Automatic Wealth, Michael Masterson writes about the importance of financial independence. And the way to achieve it, he says, is by developing multiple streams of income.

Michael writes about owning real estate or investments as his additional income streams; I've got one side business: travel writing. And I love it.

In fact, it's the best job you can have - aside from working for ETR! I get to see places I've dreamed of seeing. And I get paid to eat well, visit cool nightspots, go to museums, and make great new friends!

This week, I'm headed to New Orleans. I imagine I'll be stopping by Galatoire's in the French Quarter. And I've heard that the city's best fried chicken is at a mom-and-pop place called Willie Mae's Scotch House.

If you live in or have been to New Orleans recently, tell me which spots you liked the best! I'll be sure to check them out.

Until next week,

Laura Sig

Sincerely,
Laura Rodini
